Alison was born and raised in the Southern Highlands and graduated from the University of Western Sydney in 2003 with a Bachelor of Commerce & Bachelor of International Studies, majoring in Tourism Management.

When she finished University, Alison was offered a position at Visual Event Management in Sydney where she gained an abundance of experience in the Events Industry. Alison was involved in the coordination of a vast array of events from Movie Premieres and After Parties to Corporate Conferences and Product Launches. She was an event coordinator for the 'X-Men 2'and 'Master & Commander' Movie Premieres in Sydney, travelled to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam to coordinate the DHL Asia Pacific Conference, was event manager at a private 50th Birthday Party at Peats Bite on the Hawkesbury River and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) event, and was involved in the coordination of Nokia Product Launches and various other DHL conferences.

From there she moved into a sales role at McGrath Estate Agents in Sydney which enabled her to explore her other passion of property and interior design, where she coordinated each sale from appraisal to settlement and was involved in the styling and marketing of the properties.

In 2010, Alison moved to Canberra where she worked as an Executive Assistant and later Project Officer at the Department of Finance & Deregulation, until she returned to the Southern Highlands with her family for the beautiful surrounds and relaxed lifestyle. It was then that Alison decided to combine her event management experience, high attention to detail and planning, coordination and styling skills, to create Tea Cup Events.

"After planning my own wedding, I had several friends who came to me for help when they became engaged. It was then that I discovered that there are many people out there who just don't know where to start when it comes to organising their own wedding. It is all too overwhelming and daunting for them, and yet they don't necessarily want to pay for a Wedding Planner to organise the entire event. I have created my business, Tea Cup Events, to enable you to use your Wedding Planner as much or as little as you need, and more importantly, to take the stress out of planning a wedding so you can sit back and relax and enjoy this exciting time in your life..."
